Aiming to reach as diverse an audience as possible, this project is a collaborative effort involving key partners such as Centropa (Germany & Hungary), the Galicia Jewish Museum (Poland), the Center for Education Policy (Serbia), HERMES (Croatia), The International Commission (Lithuania), The University of Patras (Greece) and JewLIF (Germany).
Centropa
Founded in 2000, Centropa has more than two decades of experience in transnational education projects on 20th century Jewish history. We have developed 50 short films, 15 exhibitions and several audio walks and podcasts, and have held over 250 training seminars in 20 European countries.
Centropa - Zentrum für jüdische Geschichte des 20. Jahrhunderts e.V. is the German branch of the Jewish historical institute Centropa, located in Hamburg. Centropa Alapítvány is the Hungarian branch of Centropa, located in Budapest.
Centropa Hamburg is the organizational partner leading the HerStories consortium.
Galicia Jewish Museum
The Galicia Jewish Museum was founded in 2004. This innovative and unique institution located in Kazimierz, the Jewish district of Kraków, exists to commemorate the victims of the Holocaust and to celebrate the Jewish culture of Polish Galicia, presenting Jewish history from a new perspective. The Education Department is staffed by a group of female experts in Jewish history, culture and tradition, who have many years of experience working with audiences of all ages, as well as taking part in numerous national and international educational projects. They run various educational activities on Judaism, Jewish culture, Jewish history and the Holocaust, memory, heritage, and anti-discrimination workshops. The goal of educational activities is not only to learn about the past, but also to emphasise the continuity of Jewish culture and its contemporary manifestations.
Centre For Education Policy
The Center for Education Policy is an independent research institution in Belgrade, Serbia, established in 2007 with the aim of improving the education system in Serbia and the Western Balkans region through research, policy analysis, information dissemination, and building professional human resources in education. During its 15 years of operation, CEP has provided expertise to a wide range of international and national institutions. CEP experts have experience in the areas of education, social inclusion, and promotion of a democratic school culture, working directly with primary and secondary schools and teachers' associations, and supporting educational institutions based on CEP research activities.
International Commission for the Evaluation of the Crimes of the Nazi and Soviet Occupation Regimes in Lithuania
The International Commission for the Evaluation of the Crimes of the Nazi and Soviet Occupation Regimes in Lithuania (hereinafter referred to as the International Historical Commission) was formed by the decree of 7 September 1998 issued by the President of the Republic of Lithuania, Valdas Adamkus.
HERMES
The mission of HERMES is education for democratic citizenship, through developing and applying innovative (non-formal) educational programs based on promoting non-violent communication methods such as structured and critical thinking, active listening and radical empathy as conflict resolution and prevention tools.
University of Patras
The University of Patras was founded in the city of Patras in 1964 and started to operate in academic year 1966-1967. In June 2013 the University of Western Greece was integrated into the University of Patras. In 2019 the majority of the departments of the Technological Educational Institute of Western Greece were also integrated into the University of Patras.
JEWLIF - Jewish Life in Europe
The JEWLIF association emerged from the successful anniversary year #2021JLID – 1700 Years of Jewish Life in Germany, a nationwide festival that made the diversity, vitality, and historical depth of Jewish life visible to broad audiences across Germany and beyond.
JEWLIF works to strengthen Jewish life and culture at a European level by fostering dialogue, cultural exchange, and sustainable networks among institutions, civil society, and public stakeholders. The association promotes Jewish heritage as an integral part of European history and present-day society. A key objective is to proactively counter antisemitism through various initiatives and projects.
JEWLIF is committed to promoting Jewish heritage as an integral and dynamic part of European history and contemporary society. Through partnerships with cultural institutions, civil society organisations, academic bodies and public stakeholders, the association develops and supports projects that highlight the diversity and richness of Jewish life today.
